Event Description: How much could your company be saving by utilizing your local Kent-Ottawa-Muskegon FTZ? The U.S. Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ or Zone) is a designated area considered outside the U.S. for Customs purposes. Foreign-Trade Zones are secure and enclosed areas which are operated as a public utility and located in or adjacent to a Customs port of entry. Foreign-Trade Zones help US businesses stay competitive in the international marketplace by reducing operational costs and encouraging activity by allowing delayed or reduced duty payments on foreign merchandise, among other savings. Join us for lunch as we discuss the benefits of using your local foreign-trade zone including: • No duties on imported goods that are later re-exported • Lower tariff rates on specific products • Elimination of duties on waste, scrap and rejected or defective parts • Customs efficiencies including direct delivery and weekly entry Van Andel Global Trade Center offers training with optimal learning in mind. VAGTC program registrants will receive free parking, and necessary program materials; as well as, lunch during this program.
