Date: 9/24/2014 Time: 5:00 PM TO 6:30 PM 1903 Marquette Avenue Muskegon, MI 49442 Phone: 231-777-5200 Event Description: Join Baker College of Muskegon as it opens its new Health Science Center for a community open house on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 5-6:30 p.m. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:15 p.m. followed by student demonstrations of the many laboratories throughout the two-story, 35,000-square-foot building. About 60 percent of the building is laboratory space that replicates various medical settings where students will practice their skills in order to be job ready at graduation. Labs include simulative versions of a doctor’s office, an operating room, a radiology suite, a 14-bed patient-care room for therapeutic massage and even a hospital-based and a retail-based pharmacy, and more.
