Date: 10/16/2014 Time: 5:00 PM TO 7:00 PM 200 Harvye St. Muskegon, MI 49442 Phone: 231-740-9092 Event Description: Explore high-tech classrooms and labs, enjoy student-made refreshments, and check out great giveaways from WSNX live on-site during an open house at the newly expanded Muskegon Area Career Tech Center from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2014. Community members are invited to meet students and staff while touring the 73,000 square-foot career and technical education facility that serves over seven hundred high school students each day. One of the newest highlights is the state-of-the-art Graphic Production Technologies Lab. Products designed and created by students will be on display. The new Food Theory Lab for Catering & Culinary Management students will also be open for guests to tour. Off-campus classes such as Cosmetology and Construction Trades will be represented on the main campus as well. Visitors interested in seeing the progress at this year’s Construction Trades home, as well as several past student-built homes, may travel a mile and a half away to 2590 Chestnut Trail. Instructors will be at the home to answer questions while students offer demonstrations. In addition, representatives from several colleges, universities, and trade schools will be on-site to speak with parents and students. Throughout the evening door prizes will be awarded and WSNX Radio will be offering giveaways.
