Event Description: The Muskegon Recorder Players and Friends will take you on a journey through musical genres and eras. They will play popular, folk, and classical music from the Renaissance through the 21st century.The recorder had its heydey in medieval times through the Baroque era, but declined in popularity when the flute, clarinet, and oboe became more popular. During the 20th century the recorder’s popularity increased and new music is now being composed. The sound of the recorder is clear and sweet, with a slightly woody sound. The Muskegon Recorder Players was founded over 30 years ago, and currently has 6 members. Brought to you through the generosity of the Friends of Hackley Library.
