They will play popular, folk, and classical music from the Renaissance through the 21st century.The recorder had its heydey in medieval times through the Baroque era, but declined in popularity when the flute, clarinet, and oboe became more popular. During the 20th century the recorder’s popularity increased and new music is now being composed. The sound of the recorder is clear and sweet, with a slightly woody sound.
