Event Description: The popular “…And Justice for All” series continues at Muskegon Community College on Thursday evening, Sept. 24, with an interactive discussion on hidden prejudice titled “Explore Your Bias.” Free and open to the public, the panel discussion takes place from 6-8 p.m. in Stevenson Center Room 1100. The event is the third in the series which began last year. Panelists include MCC faculty members Papa N’Jai, Nicholas Budimir and Floyd R. Cook, Institute of Healing Racism Director. They will lead a discussion on various topics related to bias, such as structural racism, and then pose questions to the audience designed to provide them with greater insight into their perceptions and potential biases. Prior to the discussion, a group of volunteers, as well as the panelists, will participate in social psychology tests to measure their associations and how they may influence their attitudes and behavior. Those results will be shared at the public session and be used to promote a more personalized and scientific look at the subject of bias. For more information, contact the MCC Office of Student Services at (231) 777-0266.
