Public Health Muskegon County will be hosting an Adult Mental Health First Aid training, the class will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM for two consecutive days. Mental Health First Aid is an evidence based training certification course much like CPR. The course is designed to help reduce suicide and other traumatic events and aid in decreasing stigma surrounding mental health issues. Course objectives include: 1. Learn about mental health and substance abuse issues. 2. Learn how to identify the signs of a mental health issue. 3. Learn how to assist someone in crisis. 4. Learn how to direct friends, family, and loved one to appropriate care.
