Event Description: Origins of the Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy Dec. 7 in Spring Lake A famous trumpet player from Chicago way…could the Boogie Woogie Bugler actually be a West Michigan native? Find out on Wednesday evening, Dec. 7, when Muskegon Community College History instructor Kurt Troutman will share the story behind the WW II era Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, including Muskegon native Clarence Zylman’s role, on the 75th anniversary of America’s entry into WW I. The one hour-presentation, a combination of joyful music, feature film and discussion, is free and open to the public. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Spring Lake District Library, 123 E.
