Event Description: Alice's Ordinary People is a documentary DVD about Alice Tregay, an unsung heroine of the Civil Rights Movement. Her remarkable story spans the historic period from the marches of Dr. King to the election of Barack Obama; in fact, her great contribution in the field of politics is the thread which connects the two. A more thorough description is offered at imaginevideo.org under the tab Alice's Ordinary People. Alice was recently featured on the NPR program "The Story with Dick Gordon." Brought to the community through a generous bequest from Bess Commodore. WUVS 103.7 "The Community Station" the Beat is the media sponsor. www.thestory.org/stories/2012-08/alice-tregay-and-her-life-politics A librarian from Lakeland, Florida recently wrote: Alice's Ordinary People is officially in our library collection and the shelf for checkout. I did get a chance to see your film and I enjoyed it immensely. It underlines how important it is to do one's part, even if one thinks it's small, to effect a good change in the world at large. I found it quite inspiring...
