Date: 5/15/2017 Time: 5:00 PM TO 6:00 PM 4747 W. 48th Street Fremont , MI 49412 Phone: tina.dee@muskegoncc.edu Event Description: More than 180 volunteers from Muskegon, Ottawa, and Newaygo counties have worked with Muskegon Community College during the past year to define the priorities and goals for MCC’s 2017-2022 Strategic Plan. Now, residents in those three counties will have the opportunity to learn about, respond to, and discuss the college’s proposed strategic plan with MCC President Dale K. Nesbary during a series of five forums being held May 8-19. “It was important to MCC that this be a strategic plan for the community and by the community, so we’ve solicited input from the campus and community members throughout the planning process,” said Tina Dee, director of strategic initiatives at MCC. “The Strategic Plan Preview Forums provide a final opportunity for everyone to weigh in on the proposed priorities and goals.” One of the many strategic ways that community input guided the college’s process was through a Community Needs Assessment Survey. Feedback was sought from current students, high school students, MCC alumni, and business and industry leaders in Muskegon, Ottawa and Newaygo counties. The survey results have led MCC to consider new programs, both academic and non-academic. Those unable to attend one of the forums can still provide feedback between May 1 and May 31 by completing an online survey at www.muskegoncc.edu/strategicplanning.
