Event Description: Muskegon Community College history professor Kurt Troutman and Muskegon artist Ari Norris will make a special presentation at the Lakeshore Museum Center about a new sculpture planned for downtown Muskegon. The sculpture will memorialize Clarence Zylman, a Muskegon native who was known as the Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy from the 1940s Andrew Sisters hit song by the same name. At the informational fundraiser they will discuss the story behind the popular song and creation of a life size bronze sculpture of Zylman by Norris. A short documentary about Zylman will be shown and attendees will learn how they can support the project. This is a free event. Please call 722-0278 to reserve a seat.
