Event Description: On Wednesday evenings throughout October, the 2017 Muskegon Area Arts and Humanities Festival (ahfest) will show and discuss four films associated with WATER, the ahfest’s theme this year, at the Muskegon Museum of Art, 296 W Webster Ave. in downtown Muskegon. Admission is free and open to the public. Each movie will be followed by a brief discussion. All films begin promptly at 5 p.m., when the doors will be closed. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early. A cash bar for beer and wine, along with free popcorn, will be available. For more information, contact Mary Tyler at (231) 777-0327. Manchester by the Sea (2016) is an American drama film written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan, and starring Casey Affleck, Michelle Williams, Kyle Chandler, and Lucas Hedges. The plot follows a man who looks after his teenage nephew after his brother dies. Manchester by the Sea received critical acclaim upon its release and was counted among the best films of 2016. At the 89th Academy Awards, the film won Best Original Screenplay Award and Casey Affleck won the Best Actor Award. He also received Best Actor at the Golden Globe Award.
