It tells the story of the 30 year courtship between the station agent at a small town railroad depot and the local schoolteacher. The play is approximately 55 minutes long. His previous play, The Wreck of the Gimpy Gin, was about a boat wreck on Lake Huron in 1927. The audience was mesmerized from the moment the one-man-show started until they exploded with applause at the end.
