Half price wine bottles on Wednesdays! That was a pleasant surprise. We sat outside and had a pretty good time! The outside seating could be a little nicer, but I appreciate any restaurant that offers outdoor dining during the pandemic. We had the artichoke dip appetizer, a flatbread, pasta, and a salmon dish and all were very good. I'll definitely be back with my husband, it's in a great area to explore.

We had Ahi Tuna sesame coated! So good the entree was Salmon with butter dill sauce, German potatoes and green beans. Amazing food! Topped with a great carrot cake! They have a new Chef so the menu will get larger. We all need to be more thoughtful for the people that are working to wait on us and the restaurants trying to keep up with these times.
This restaurant is worth a try!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 82351093Oct 19, 2017
Just what down town needed! Owner Michael Kordecki has made another sizable investment in Muskegan Renaissance. Menu is perfect, & taste even better. Service the way it's suppose to be. Muskegan is lucky to have Smash, & even luckier to have native born Michael Kordecki help usher in her bright future...

SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE REVIEWS!!! I saw them and I know that Yelp never leads me astray, but I wanted to support local so I went anyway! It's sad because I want small businesses to be successful and I know it's a hard time right now, but this experience was rough. I saw an advertisement claiming this is the "most romantic restaurant in Muskegon." I hope not because it was a bit sad. First off, we were the only people there at 6pm on a Saturday night. A few people trickled in before we left, but it was lonely. There was no music, live or otherwise, so we were eating in silence. The chairs and tables could be from Applebee's or something-very casual and outdated. There was a bar with TVs playing silently, which was weird to add to the vibe because it looked like a sports bar counter and not a date night spot. There was also an odd fountain in the center of the room. Food was typical "American date food." Nothing interesting. My salad was bland and croutons were hard. Chicken Marsala was very boring and uninspired. I was a bit surprised that it's called a wine bar since there wasn't anything special about the wine-just a regular wine menu like you would find in any other restaurant. They also had cocktails, beers, and spirits. So overall? Very chill, very quiet, and very bland. Not worth $$. I feel they need to go all in with the romance vibe and do some updates or turn in a more casual spot but it's trying to do too many things at once.

Nice dinner with great live music this Eve. Salmon was tasty as were friend's flatbreads. Good service!

I got the Cajun Alfredo with shrimp. The pasta was way over cooked and the Alfredo sauce tasted like the flour wasn't cooked out. Minus the Cajun seasoning the dish was bland. I honestly would have had better food at Fazoli's and spent less money too.

Flatbreads are solid. Wait staff decent. However, the ventilation system for the kitchen is essentially nonexistent. Any single order of fish, and the entire restaurant as well as the entire atrium of the Frauenthal and into the theater itself, will reek of fish. Not minimally, but akin to a San Francisco fish market. The managing group owns a couple other local establishments, like the No Name Saloon. When "the chef" asks the waitress is "this looks right" relative to a salad, you've got some issues. Gentlemen, you can't cheap out on equipment and talent for profit margins.....it always ends up badly.

This was our first time here in a long time, and we have missed it. The bartenders were fantastic! They made great recommendations and we were all pleased with our orders. 3 craft beers and a cocktail. The atmosphere is cozy and the glass bar is a pretty addition.

We dined here last night. The place was packed with people attending the event at the Frauentral. We had very spotty service, although, our server was pleasant. After ordering and waiting quite a while, we we served our Chicken Tacos. They were bad. Shredded chicken, sprinkled Pico De Gallo on a dry old tortilla! We sent them back. The server suggested that we try their Steak special. We ordered our steak medium, but what we received was a rare unseasoned piece of meat. Such a terrible evening, we paid the bill and left all the food on the table. The worst experience in a long time. Unless this place gets their act together, I don't see them staying open.

The restaurant offered three seating areas, outside patio dining, lobby window seating and in the downstairs restaurant. We were greeted by their staff. The restaurant offers happy hour drink specials and even an entree special, so check their website. The menu selection is varied and sure to please any palette. We ordered the Pecan Crusted Walleye and Mango Salsa Crab cakes, both beautifully prepared and good. All in all it was a lovely dining experience. I hope that more diners frequent this place because it has a nice ambiance.
